Stefan Alexander De Smit joined Hodder Barristers as a law clerk in 2010. He completed his legal training in England by obtaining a Bachelor of Laws in English and European Law from Queen Mary University of London in 2006.  He was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2007.  He completed a Master of Laws in International Commercial Law from University College London in 2009.  Since being called, he has worked at leading litigation firms in England and the Channel Islands.

In 2009, Stefan was a recipient of the Harold G. Fox Scholarship enabling him to work as an English-trained barrister at Fasken Martineau, an international Toronto law firm.  He obtained an accredited Canadian Bachelor of Laws, articled with our firm and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012.

Stefan is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Middle Temple (England), the Bar Council of England & Wales, the Ontario Bar Association and the Toronto Lawyers’ Association.
